Ian Hunter Garden Design & Build
This site was designed with a around a concept of Oriental minimalism — soft pastel colours with some complementary earthy tones, and subtle flower and tree motifs layered across the different panels of the page.
The important aspect of this design was to keep as much information on one screen as possible, in order to avoid repeated scrolling and clicking to view all the pictures. This was achieved using CSS styling to present all the content in a central panel, where all the images and corresponding text was displayed using rollover buttons. Accessibility for keyboard use and text re-sizing was maintained by giving each button a click function that would open the content in a new window.
A unique feature of Ian's work is his elaborate and carefully hand-drawn plans, some of which were used in the site graphics. A logo was designed for the site that reflected this, and the design of the menu adapted to give a memorable visual identity across the site's pages.
